2024 Whale Watching Season Wrap-Up

As the 2024 whale watching season finishes up, we reflect on an extraordinary year filled with amazing whale sightings and many, many unforgettable experiences.

Our tours in Augusta, Busselton, and Dunsborough were nothing short of spectacular, achieving a 100% success rate in whale sightings on every tour.

This success is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our fantastic crew, who worked tirelessly to provide our guests with the best possible experience.

Highlights of the Season

Consistent Sightings

Throughout the 2024 whale watching season, our tours maintained an impressive track record of sightings.

Our commitment to providing a successful whale watching experience is reflected in our 100% sighting rate across all tours this year!

The prime locations of Augusta, Busselton, and Dunsborough played a significant role in this success.

These areas are strategically situated along the migration routes of various whale species, including Humpback, Southern Right, and Blue Whales.

Our expert crew utilised their extensive knowledge of whale behaviour and migration patterns to maximise sighting opportunities.

Our tours are designed to adapt to the whales’ movements, allowing us to follow their paths and increase the chances of close encounters.

Diverse Marine Life

In addition to Humpback and Southern Right Whales, our guests saw a variety of marine life.

A highlight was those aboard our Busselton and Dunsborough tours who were fortunate enough to see Blue Whales on many occasions, along with playful dolphins that often joined us during our tours.

Guests were also treated to the heart-warming sight of whale calves playing alongside their mothers.

Memorable Moments

Educational Tours

Our tours were not just about sightings but also about education. Guests learned about marine ecosystems and conservation efforts, making each trip both informative and enjoyable.

Community Engagement

The season was marked by strong community involvement, with many locals and tourists joining us to celebrate the beauty of marine wildlife.

We also continued our partnership with marine conservation projects, such as the Geographe Marine Research’s latest paper documenting the occurrence of neonate humpback whale calves in Australia’s southwest region over the past few years.
